Tank-mix with: Atrazine, Princep, Hornet, Banvel, Marksman, Prowl, Lorox, Sencor.
- Lasso, Micro-Tech, Partner, and CropStar (all contain alachlor as active ingredient) control annual grasses and pigweed,
and control or suppress yellow nutsedge and black nightshade.
- Mode of action: shoot meristem inhibitor.
- Micro-Tech and Partner can be applied up to 30 days before planting as a single
application. When applying 30 to 45 days prior to planting, apply 60% of the full rate early, followed by 40% of the full rate at planting. On coarse-textured soils, do
not apply more than 2 weeks prior to planting. When applying early, rates should be increased somewhat compared to
application at planting. Including Princep in early preplant treatments may increase the longevity of grass control.
- Lasso EC, Partner, and Micro-Tech can be applied before or after corn planting,
and after corn emergence until the corn is 5 inches tall. Mixtures of these products with atrazine should be applied before weeds have passed the 2-leaf stage.
MicroTech or Partner plus atrazine can be applied to emerged corn in water or nitrogen fertilizer solution. Do not apply in apply
in fertilizer solution when air temperature exceeds 85 degrees. Other products and combinations should be applied in water
after the corn has emerged. Leaf burn may occur when applied to emerged corn.
- Incorporation to 2 inches will improve yellow nutsedge control and reduce dependence upon rainfall.
- Various formulations of alachlor are sold by a number of distributors under names other than those shown here. Follow
label directions for individual products.
