TILIA EUCHLORA Crimean Linden

Northwestern (Parking Lot), Wooster

Planted: 1964

Site: 6' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments: Trees are pyramidal, well established, and consistent in size and shape. However, they may become too large for this narrow tree lot. Power lines are overhead and a problem may result as the trees get larger. The glossy foliage typical of this species is very attractive during the summer months.

Crimean Linden

1997 Comments: These plants performed better on the opposite side of the street where the location is a little more open. At the YMCA, there are quite a number of other trees providing competition for the lindens. Some sidewalks were cracked.

Sixty-nine percent of the overall planting survived (11 of 16 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on four trees.
