1971 Comments: These trees are formal in habit, consistent in size and, as is true in most cultivars, superior to the species. They are growing well under power lines in an area of severe air pollution.

1997 Comments: The original plants were planted under power lines and some of the adjacent plants in the same planting were not. The plants that are under the power lines are utility pruned and about ten feet shorter. Sidewalk disruption in this area has been minor.
One hundred percent of the overall planting survived (16 of 16 trees). The
1997 data in the table are based on five trees.
