GLEDITSIA TRIACANTHOS 'MORAINE' Moraine Honeylocust

2810 Brownlee, Columbus

Planted: 1953

Site: Property Owners' Lawn

1971 Comments: Plants are in good condition and growing well. They are in scale with the area.

1967 1968 1969 1970 1997
Height ___ ___ 39.2' 32.2' 57.2'
Caliper ___ ___ 12.7" 14.1" 22.2"
Spread ___ ___ 32.0' 32.0' 52.4'

1997 Comments: The plants form a canopy over the street. Reaction by residents is mixed; some thought it was wonderful, another individual thought it was the worst tree and related stories to us about trying to rake up the leaves. The trees are in a lawn-type environment. At one time, there were sidewalks. But when the trees were placed, the sidewalks were removed.

Seventy-eight percent of the overall planting survived (18 of 23 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on five trees.
