1971 Comments: These trees are of the typical oval habit of this cultivar. They have not increased in caliper even though they were planted approximately eighteen years ago. Some of the tree trunks have frost cracks, but the general appearance is good. Locating the trees in the center of the tree lawn rather than close to the sidewalk side would have been a better choice.

1997 Comments: There is very little disruption of sidewalks in this area. This particular cultivar is located in an area where all properties are well maintained.
Fifty-nine percent of the original planting survived (13 of 22 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on four trees.
