CELTIS LAEVIGATA Sugar Hackberry

3650 114th, Cleveland

Planted: 1959

Site: 7' Tree Lawn

1971 Comments: The trees are upright spreading and appear to be well suited to the area under utility lines. Although they are irregular in form, they are interesting and they do provide shade for the area.

Height 24.0' 26.0' 26.6' 27.2' 30.0'
Caliper 4.6" 5.1" 5.6" 7.0" 15.3"
Spread 15.2' 17.4' 20.8' 23.4' 34.4'

1997 Comments: There is some leaf yellowing that appears to be due to a micronutrient deficiency. One homeowner hates the trees; another thought they were OK. The trees have remained small with the largest plant being less than thirty-five feet tall. Most of them showed some sidewalk damage.

Sixty-five percent of the overall planting survived (17 of 26). The 1997 data in the table are based on five trees.
