1971 Comments: The trees are upright spreading and well suited to the wide tree lawn and deep setback of the homes. There are no utility lines overhead and the trees provide a good appearance for the entire area.

Sycamore Maple

1997 Comments: The overall survival of this planting is high, but the remaining plants are showing decline. This plant is native to northern Europe where summers are much cooler. The wider tree lawn may have contributed to the high survival rate in this particular situation.

Eight-five percent of the overall planting survived (22 of 26 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on five trees.
