Planted: 1955
Site: 10' Tree Lawn (The planting area between the sidewalk and street)
1971 Comments: The habit of the trees is upright spreading; however, there is considerable variation in height, spread, and caliper. They are growing well and appear to be suited to this suburban situation.

1997 Comments: Two of the original trees are adjacent to beautifully maintained homes and have some sidewalk damage. The trees with good maintenance are 19 to 20 inches in diameter, while the majority of the trees ranged from 11- to 15-inch caliper. There is no sidewalk damage to the poorly maintained trees, but some displaced sidewalks are present for the larger trees. Overall, the remaining trees did fairly well. This tree is related to the Sugar Maple, but is considerably smaller.
Fifty-seven percent of the overall planting survived (16 of 28 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on four trees.
