1997 Comments: Most of the plants in the original study location survived. Some sidewalk disruption is present. Replacements have been made in the area. Twig extension growth on the plants is six inches or better. Habit has broadened with age as many upright cultivars tend to do.
Forty percent of the overall planting survived (8 of 20 trees). The 1997 data in the table are based on four trees.
