This publication was written with the intent of providing useful and practical information about asparagus production, management, and marketing to growers over a wide geographical area across the United States and Canada. It focuses primarily on the northeast, Midwest, and southeastern states.
Asparagus production in California is briefly mentioned. Specific asparagus varieties developed in California and their performance in the east, Midwest, and southeast are also reported.
However, people desiring asparagus production information west of the Rockies should consult vegetable crops specialists at their state land-grant university to obtain the best information for their particular state.
