Each pesticide you buy has a label that gives instructions on how to use the product. Labeling is all the information you receive from the manufacturer about the product. Parts of the label contain the brand, trade or product names. Other information includes ingredient statement, chemical name, common name, type of pesticide, name and address of manufacturer, registration and establishment numbers, signal words and symbols, precautionary statements, route of entry and specific action statements, protective clothing and equipment statements, environmental hazards, physical or chemical hazards, classification statement, reentry statement, storage and disposal, and directions for use. For more detailed information on labels, read carefully the USDA/US-EPA Publication, Applying Pesticides Correctly. (See specimen label.)
