Ohio 4-H Ambassador*** Ohio 4-H Foundation
Wendy's International
Teens become eligible to be a State 4-H Ambassador based on their documented accomplishments in 4-H, leadership, public speaking, and community service activities. Once eligibility has been verified, the teens are invited to attend Ohio 4-H Youth Expo and receive initial training. Upon completion of initial training, they are officially installed as Ambassadors and are recognized at the Youth Expo Recognition Banquet. Ambassadors are then eligible to represent Ohio's 4-H youth at various county, state, and national events.
State Achievement Awards* Various sponsors Includes a trip to National 4-H Congress. Areas include: Beef, Citizenship & Community Service, Clothing & Textiles, Dairy, Dairy Goats, Environmental Sciences, Family Life & Child Development, Foods & Nutrition, Gardening & Horticulture, Health & Safety, Horse, Leadership, Mechanical & Engineering Sciences, Personal Development, Rabbits & Poultry, Sheep, and Swine. Recognition provided at State awards banquet, Ohio 4-H Youth Expo.
Local Government Award* Ohio Township Association One $1000 award is available to any 4-H high school senior who has completed a local government-type activity with significant impact on the applicant's community, township or county.
Ohio Dairy Goat Conference* Ohio Dairy Goat Association Four delegates selected to attend the Ohio Dairy Goat Conference in Columbus. Available to current Dairy Goat members.
National 4-H Dairy Conference* NOBA, Inc.
COBA, Inc.
Milk Marketing, Inc.
Six delegates selected to attend National 4-H Dairy conference in Madison, Wisconsin.
N.I.C.E. Conference* The Ohio Council of Farmer Cooperatives Five delegates selected to attend national N.I.C.E. Summer Institute. Focus on why cooperatives are important, business finance, and small group learning sessions.
State Jr. Fair Board* The Ohio State Fair Two members per year selected to serve on State Junior Fair Board.
Health and Safety Speaking Award Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives Jr. & Sr. members compete at District and State public speaking events; top 4 winners receive special recognition and a possible trip to a national event.
John Mount Achievement Award**** John T. Mount $1,000.00 awarded to one former 4-H member attending The Ohio State University, recognizing achievements in the areas of leadership, scholarship and service.
* Ohio 4-H Achievement Record to be completed and submitted to county OSU Extension office before January 31.
** Ohio 4-H Scholarship Application Sheet along with Ohio Achievement Record, to be completed and submitted to county OSU Extension office before January 31.
*** State 4-H Ambassador Application Form to be completed and submitted to county Extension office before January 31.
**** John T. Mount Scholarship Application Form to be completed and submitted to State 4-H Office by February 15.
***** International Youth Exchange Program Application Form and/or Host Family Application Form to be completed and submitted to State 4-H Office at a variety of dates.
