  • Command Carryover Affects Tomatoes

County agent Hal Kneen inspecting Command carry over damage. This tomato field had pumpkins last year and the pumpkin herbicide used was Command. After pumpkin harvest last fall, there was not sufficient rainfall as specified by the label to avoid carry over problems this season. Always READ THE LABEL and follow recommended rates and crop rotation restrictions. We have always recommended that when working with a herbicide such as Command, you should try it out first and see if it works into your rotation program especially when you are growing many different types of vegetables.
A closer view of the affected tomatoes showing interveinal whitening and yellowing. The whole tomato field had this appearance about a month ago.
